The PUV Modernization Program (PUVMP) is forcing Jeepney drivers and operators to consolidate their jeepneys, coercing them to surrender their franchise rights. This unjust pol icy disproportionately impacts many of those who can’t afford the exorbitant costs of modernization, with modern jeepneys priced at 2 million pesos. This is why it is imperative more than ever to support the resistance of Filipino transport workers.
We are bringing you the 'Atin ang Lansangan' zine (The Road is Ours), in support of the Tanggol Pasada Network (TPN) a network that fights against the PUVMP and promotes progressive and people-oriented transportation in the Philippines.
In collaboration with Inklusibo, this zine was curated by the Artists Against Jeepney Phaseout, compiling artworks, photographs, and poems from dozens of Filipino artists. We see this art as an offering to Filipinos worldwide, urging all of us to fight alongside Jeepney workers in the motherland.
The profits from this zine will go towards the work of TPN and partly to Typhoon Relief in the Philippines through Amihan National Federation of Peasant Women, Lingap Gabriela, and Sugarfolks Unity for Genuine Agrarian Reform.
